In his recent LinkedIn post , Westpac employee Matt Kav attempts to portray colleague Peter Cornwell as an exemplary advocate for Indigenous rights and inclusion . Yet, this attempt at virtue signaling rings hollow when considering accusations against Westpac's Peter Cornwell of sexual misconduct and taking advantage of a vulnerable female .

Kav’s praise-filled commentary of P. Cornwell sidesteps the grave allegations made against Peter Cornwell , including tracking, intimidation , and inappropriate behavior of a female victim.

By failing to address these accusations, Matt Kav perpetuates a culture of silence that allows perpetrators like his colleague to persist without consequences , shielded by being a " marginalized Indigenous individual ," absolute performative posturing promoted by organizations like Westpac .

The LinkedIn post highlights several gatherings where Kav took part with Peter Cornwell , the alleged abuser , in social efforts. Still, it fails to acknowledge the damage of Cornwell's supposed actions on those affected .

The piece points out the hypocrisy of celebrating Cornwell's role while turning a blind eye to allegations against him, causing observers to question if M. Kav is more focused on boosting the company’s image that Australia is so desperate to do when demonstrating inclusiveness rather than addressing serious misconduct, an accused predator hiding behind the cover of " marginalized status ."
